Setting Up Your Bestie Button
Getting started with Bestie Button is quick and easy. Follow the steps below to make
sure your button is ready before you head out.

Step 1: Download the App
To use Bestie Button, you must first download the Bestie Button app from the App
Store.
Once installed, open the app and follow the onscreen prompts to begin setup

Step 2: Connect Your Smart Button
 Open the Bestie Button app
 Follow the instructions in the app to connect your smart button to your phone
via Bluetooth
 The app will confirm once the smart button is successfully connected
✅ Tip: Always check that your button shows as connected in the app before
heading out.

Step 3: Add Your Trusted Contacts
Choose the people you want Bestie Button to notify.
 Tap Add Contacts in the app
 Select a name from your phone’s contacts
 Tap the phone number you want to add

Step 4: Manage Your Contacts
You can update or remove contacts at any time by:
 Opening the app
 Tapping Manage Contacts. 

To delete an existing contact swipe let on their name

This allows you to stay in control of who receives your messages.

Step 5: Keep the App Running in the Background
To maintain the Bluetooth connection:
✔️ You can:
 Lock your phone
 Use other apps
 Put your phone in your pocket or bag
❌ Please do not fully close the app:
 Swiping up to force close the Bestie Button app will disconnect Bluetooth
 If the app is fully closed, the button will not work
 The app must remain open in the background for Bestie Button to function
properly.

This is the same as all apps such as music apps connected to Bluetooth headphones, closing the app kills the connection

There is a swipe button within the app that will also send the distress
message and location

 

Before You Head Out
Always check:

 ✅ The app is open (in the background)

✅ Bluetooth is turned on
✅ The app shows your smart button is connected
This ensures Bestie Button is ready whenever you need it.
